Uncle Tetsu, Japanese Cheese Cake Review

The cake that raving in Taiwan, Japan, and China is finally and officially in Malaysia. Yay! This is super famous and I heard queue is needed in other country, including here in Malaysia! At least of 10 minutes wait I can say? And I got mine yesterday at One Utama, I didn't know it's already in Malaysia until I walk by and I was like Oh I know that cake. I watched Taiwanese variety show about foods and a lot people (Artists) seems to be very into it. Not to mention the cute little mascot logo is eye catching and easy to remember! heh!

So back into the point, if you're cheesecake lover (Duh, if not you won't be tempted to try), you definitely got to try this! But bear in mind, Japanese cheese cake and American cheese cake such as New York cheese cake, marble.... is totally different! From the texture and the amount of cheese they used.

American cheesecake is more moist and more cheese in a spoon, it's like mouthful of cheese.

Japanese cheesecake is very light of cheese, mild, and milky while the texture is soft and fluffy.

Depends on your liking, personally I think both are equally good and nice! For light snacks definitely Japanese cheesecake suit my liking, however, for brunch or evening high tea is always american cheesecake.

I can totally finish a whole Japanese cheesecake! Due to not too cheesy and just nice light flavour, it's not like if you have too much you would feel like throwing up, not for this!

Lastly, is this worth? Yes I would say, I always don't believe on baking my own cause the cost and time is more than what it cost and most important is no taste guarantee. Haha just saying but baking is sometimes fun... until the amount of dish washing...

And something I found in weibo, looks so good (Credit to owner) In Taiwan.

How To Make Chawanmushi - Recipe

I'm so excited to share this, yes it's chawanmushi! The one you must order in Japanese cuisine, at least for me! My all time favourite! It's super yummy and in Malaysia it cost RM5/+ a small bowl. Totally worth it to make it yourself and I can tell you it's exactly the same! :D:D

To make a yummeh Chawanmushi, you need :-
2 Eggs
300ml Dashi stock
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp mirin (Cooking sweet sakae)
1/4 tsp salt

According to your self preference :-

  • Chicken breast (Just a small piece is enough!)
  • Shimeji mushrooms
  • Ginkgo nuts
  • Fishcakes

I don't like gingko nuts so I didn't put any and I can't get any fishcake so you can put if you liked to!
All ingredient set!

Dashi stock soup is set in 300ml! You can either buy the paste to make it, for my case, I prefer powder cause it's easier! I brought the Dashi no moto - which is vegetarian one.

And for me, it's all about the egg, so I didn't put much ingredient for egg, basically just bite size chicken breast as well as Shimeji mushrooms, by separate it.

Bit in 2 eggs, and stir it evenly using chopsticks.

Add in salt, mirin and soysauce then well mix with chopstick again. Then put in dashi stock and mix evenly. Then use a strainer, simply strain the egg then the mixture is ready to be use.

Place in the ingredient(s) according to your preferences, then pour in the egg mixture.

You can cover it with plastic wrap or aluminium foil as picture and ready to be steam.

My cup is comes with cover so I don't use plastic wrap or aluminium foil, either way is good enough.
Place a cooking paper towel (2 ply) and place in two bowl of the cup. Pour in water, half of the cup height is good enough.

Then open the fire to large, till the water is boil, adjust to small fire and steam for 7-8 minutes.

And now you are done! The chawanmushi is ready to be serve!

Look at the texture, it's perfectly steamed.
Taste test :- People thought I brought it hahaha.

Enjoy! xoxo

First experience with Lazada

Helo peeps, I/ve made some purchases from Lazada few days ago, and wondering why not I share it with you guys? I love seeing hauls and stuff so I would definitely loved to share this! As a guildline or what just enjoyy!

Ok I'm a spender as well as savers. I love to shop, like a lottt.  It's girl natural habit right? Uhmm. Ok I saw Lazada was having those discount sales, and I was like why not? I just discovered Lazada few days ago too, lol. To be honest I'm kinda love the concept of Lazada as it's a online shopping store that delivered to doorstep AND they sells tons of stuff from electronic to beauty stuff, how cool? I can purchase stuff at one site! To add on, I might save some penny? :)

So I brought 3 stuff that's chopsticks (lol I don't know...), Casio watch and water bottle. I figure out why not I buy all-in-one? They are having like few % discount off so it's kinda worth it to purchase.
I go for COD that's cash on delivery which I don't have to pay a cent until it reach my doorstep, IKR I'm into these convenience ways, heh! And first thing I wanted to complain about is that it took so many days for them to shipped out and few more days to reach my doorstep, like what? I thought second day delivery after order placed, isn't? Maybe I'm wrong about that.

Also, the package when it arrive, I was like LOL, seriously. I won't take the picture cause it's so hilarious to captured it. Basically they just put the items you ordered into a courier plastic bag, without wrapping or in a box, just dump in the huge plastic courier bag. Quite disappointed. Remember my first purchase from Zalora ? It's came in a beautiful box, so do other websites. So It's a nay for this.

Anyway the watch is so beautiful, I'm glad I brought it cause it's so worth it and nice. It's made of plastic and I don't know how to describe and what's more? It's waterproof. The thing we hate the most about white watch, is it will gain dust or stain and this is very easy to clear and manage, so happy with it.

Not to mention the water bootle, it have some scratches maybe during the delivery but it's still can use perfectly, doesn't drip or what. Anyway they got this return policy hopefully it's useful if the product is damaged during delivery.

The thing I hated the most is the tracking system, it's the worst tracking system I ever seen. Like lol? I don't understand when I will be receiving my goods. So kinda frustrated and felt luckily I go for COD. Cause the status update is literally useless. :(

Anyway, here's the total review for those whom interested :)
Choices of products :- Definitely 5/5
Availability of products :- 3/5
Delivery :- 2/5
Packaging :- 1/5
Price : 5/5

PS : I brought these in my own $ and above is my personal opinion :) xoxo

January 2014 Favourite!

Actually this should be December Favourite but since now is mid Jan already, so I combine with January heh :) I went to Taiwan during my December break so gonna blog about it soon! Especially things I brought cause I think people will loved to see, right? :/ hahah. Anyway December have been a great month as I'm December baby and January? What's better than Chinese New Year month? Super excited for that! Have some shopping spree, and one common mistake I did and will be doing every year is the year, LOL I actually typo for the title, and of course I changed to 2014 already! *awkward*

I've something about smells, perfume thingy, I'm into things and always wanting smelling good stuff. This 2 months I've 2 fragrance / perfume mist favourite! Haha this obviously proven I really into nice smells..

Firstly is this Yves Rocher Flowerparty Eau de ToiletteCan we have a minute with the packaging(?), it's so thoughtful and lovely isn't? It's like Marc Jacobs Honey inspired bottle! And the smells, it's a twist of fruity and floral smells which Fruity is my #1 while Floral is my #2 for perfume! So the combination is literally perfect I can say! Goshhh I always spray perfume on my hair when its wet and blow it with hair dryer then to my whole body hahah, thats make sense? My hair will smells good eventually.

Anyway I brought the Christmas set, for myself, yes I did :D Cause it's more worth it and the soap.. Goshh is so nice!! I want my room smells like that as well. Actually I planned to buy body mist - Raspberry from Yves Rocher and I saw this I was like I need this in my life! Hahah drama queen

And another body mist from Bath and Body Works. Actually we don't have one in Malaysia but I requested my friend to help to buy :/ And this Vanilla one, at first I was like eww so regret but then after a while I smells it I was like not bad? Then I starting to love it. The vanilla is not overpowering but still smells really good. It's a body mist btw, it's the Warm Vanilla Sugar.

And you know one of my Favourite things is book. If you can't tell? hahha Japan have these really amazing finds that this can help to adjust our back bone and this also will help to slim down and lose weight. WTH IKR it's really amazing! Glad I brought this! Been doing this everyday, really into this! ;)

Recently I discovered a product called I love Kan Ken. I immediately purchase it when I seen it! I've been finding these for the longest time! I have seen people carrying this bag but I have no clue what brand is it. It's not available in Malaysia but international shipping is always a good idea! Free shipping worldwide! I really into this and this is my current backpack!

For my Taiwan trip, I bring this around and it's so nice to have it! Really love the design and the light weight material. Anyway the one I brought is Kan Ken Classic size in navy blue. Previously I planned to buy Ox Red but Out of stock, I can't wait for that so I got navy blue, you can't get wrong with navy blue *wink*.

Now to my favourite song of the month, this month I've few favourite songs, surprise surprise :D Been loving these song like A LOT.
Watched Frozen and I am in love with this song 'let it go'! I actually love Demi's version more. This is so nice and powerful song, let it go! And the lyrics is baaammm, 'The cold doesn't bother me anyway!' How cool?

*Been replaying these songs like a lot in January, enjoy!

I blogged Team by Lorde was my favourite song in past few months but now I discovered royal is a hit too! Loving her unique, classic voice! Loving her inch more :>
